From Senaru, we took way back through the east side of Lombok. We enjoy the amazing scenery, where in the left side you can see the stunning Mt RInjani and at the left side you will see the beautiful Bali ocean. We passed Gili lampu and when we want to charter a boat to get there we realized that we ran out of cash. And the ATM is 14 km away. I was hopeless and decided to continue to the next famous destination, PINK BEACH! We drove for 1.5 hours and finally saw the sign of Pink Beach. Its 13km to arrive and I put my happy face. But my happy face suddenly vanished as we get through the bad access.
The road was under construction- its muddy, rocky, sandy, and there were stack of sands in the both side of the road. After 1 km, there was a truck with its tire stuck in the mud, and I have to walk because the way through was so small and slippery. I don’t know whether I should happy or not with this kinda road, but I was trying to enjoy the moment. Although the road was so bad, the atmosphere was really good; again we saw plenty of cows lead by a man crossing the road after a happy mud bath. In 45 minutes, we reached Pink Beach; the retribution is IDR 10.000/bike.
I was surprise with the number of warung and toilet. We wouldn’t get hungry here. I was curious with the color of the sands, so I just put my bags and get off my shoes and went to the beach. You will see the pink color right after the water touch the sand. We ordered young coconut and enjoyed the vanilla twilight offered by the magnificent Pink Beach. As it’s already dawn, Arifin and I decided to stay the night and build a tent. It was wonderful night, Arifin made a bonfire in front of the tent, I cooked noodles. The sky was full of stars and the moon shined perfectly. As always, I feel asleep earlier and awake when Arifin woke me up in the middle of the night because of the heavy rain. He asked me to hand him a flash light as he about to fix the cotter pin. It’s drizzling in the morning and sky was full of clouds. The rain stopped at 8 and I took my camera and went to hunting pictures up in the hills.
We went back to Mataram on 11 am through Kuta. We stopped over at Kuta and Tanjung An Beach, too bad it was a cloudy day so we didn’t spent much time there. After a late lunch at local warung in Kuta, we went back to Mataram to end our holiday and celebrated a New Year with Eva and Altha.
Happy New Year 2015!!!!
